Projects
This is where we share updates on what's new.
Things we build or our clients built with LumberStash salvaged wood.
New salvage / deconstruction projects
OR maybe just a photo that we like
Salvaging 2 Layers of Floor
This was 1/4” thick Oak strips on top of the original 3/4” White Pine installed in 1903. We carefully removed both layers and got them reused.
Another Deck Rescued
Lots of nice 20’ boards. PHI was hired to replace this deck. They hired us to deconstruct and salvage it
Old Habits
Still can’t pass a dumpster and leave good wood stranded.
This floor ALMOST became trash
It was an old stage. John did a great job reinstalling and refinishing it then sent us this photo!
Salvaged Redwood
This looked like ugly old wood before Dave got his hands on it. Custom made for a client
500 Foot Fence
Thanks to Scott at Fence Concepts we kept this out of the landfill.
Every Last Piece of 330 SQFT Deck
The homeowners wanted a new deck. Instead of trashing it all (standard practice ) PHI Decks hired us to deconstruct it . 400 LBS of it was rotten and went to the landfill 2,400 LBS was reused.
Reclaimed Birch
Originally installed at the Pillsbury Mansion in 1903 This floor is now 5 miles north in N.E. MPLS
One of our developer partners.
Ground up Development gives us access to their properties before they are demolished. We quickly salvage all the good stuff while meeting the requirements to earn grant money for them .
Red Oak Floor Purchased from LumberStash
Can you believe this almost went to the landfill?
1 1/2” yellow birch, hardwood from Pillsbury mansion
working alongside many other contractors we stayed out of their way and salvaged over 3000 ft.² of beautiful hardwood floor. It’s hard work but we enjoy it We take pride in preserving our resources.

Jeremy + Family in the BWCA
This wonderful place is the inspiration for LumberStash. The more we reuse The longer places like this will remain
Lots of nice old Maple!
The elementary school in Welcome MN is being demolished. Luckily thanks to Architectural Antiques the school leaders found LumberStash.
Nice load headed to Mille Lacs
So many piles like this are thrown away everyday. This stuff is solid and still very useful! We carefully deconstructed this deck and saved about 98% of it from the landfill.
Don’t toss it. Call us!
We like when Steve calls us to come get flooring they removed.
Beautiful Weathered Cedar Pickets
Better than new .
Home Demolitions
We are thankful to the growing number of contractors and developers who like what we’re doing. Thanks to Massey Berg Builders, we are on another rescue mission. True 1” thick cedar siding and 2 1-4” vintage maple floors are highlights of what we will save from this interesting old home.
Old Growth Pine Sub Floor - Respect your Elders
Whenever we save old wood floor, we try to get the Pine subfloor too. It’s dingy after 100+ years under a floor. 10 minutes with a belt sander and this beautiful piece of natural history is ready to become a shelf in a girl’s bedroom. It served as a floor since 1915. The Pine it came from was probablty MUCH bigger than 12 inches like this board. I counted 107 growth rings on this board… I bet that forest was stunning.
Deck Deconstruction
Typically decks are cut into small pieces quickly and thrown in a dumpster. Sometimes what we do doesn’t make financial sense.. but it’s fun to look at it like a puzzle and try to keep every board intact for reuse
1915 Maple From S MPLS Rescue Mission before a demo
Our partners at Ground Up Development let us save the good stuff from houses before they get to work. Copy and Paste for you tube video on this floor https://youtu.be/fMvmtWC48CA
Dumpsterwood Birdhouse
In spring of 2022 a bagster brand dumpster full of nice weathered Cedar appeared 100ft from my garage. I slapped a birdhouse together to show one example of what that wood is useful for. I found a new home for the rest of it. That birdhouse is home to a sparrow family this year . That dumpster was one of several key events that inspired LumberStash.
